Terms & Conditions

Terms of Service

Last updated: 14 September 2026

1. Who we are
News Agency is operated by Reality Co XYZ, a company registered in England and Wales with company number 17162614, whose registered office is at 66 Paul Street, London EC2A 4NA (“we”, “us”, “our”).

You can contact us at support@news-agency.org.

2. These terms
These terms form a contract between you and us. They cover your use of the News Agency mobile application (the “App”), our website, and the briefings and other content we provide (together, the “Service”).

By downloading, installing or using the App, or by creating an account, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree to them, do not use the Service.

Section 5 contains additional terms that apply where you obtain the App from the Apple App Store.

3. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, you must have the permission of a parent or guardian before you create an account or start a subscription, and they must agree to these terms on your behalf.

The Service reports on current affairs, and briefings may cover subject matter that some readers find distressing.

You do not need an account to read the free part of each briefing. You do need one to start a trial or hold a subscription. You can create an account using Sign in with Apple, Sign in with Google, or a one-time code sent to your email address.

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for activity that takes place under your account. Tell us at support@news-agency.org if you believe your account has been used without your permission.

You may not share your account with others, or use another person’s account.

4. What the Service provides
News Agency provides a briefing, generally published once each day, consisting of a set of news stories and a quote of the day. Each story sets out how different media outlets are framing the same underlying event.

Free access. Without a paid subscription you can read the headlines from each day’s briefing and the lead story in full. The remaining stories and the quote of the day are not included.

Paid subscription. A paid subscription gives you full access to each day’s briefing, including all stories and the quote of the day.

The Service is delivered through the App. We do not guarantee delivery through any other channel.

The Service is offered to users in the United Kingdom. We do not represent that it is appropriate or available elsewhere, and you are responsible for compliance with local law if you use it from another country.

5. Licence to use the App
We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the App on devices you own or control, for your own personal, non-commercial use, for as long as you comply with these terms.

You may not copy, modify, translate, reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the App, or attempt to derive its source code, except to the extent that applicable law expressly permits this despite this restriction. You may not rent, lease, lend, sell, redistribute or sublicense the App, or remove any proprietary notices from it.

5.1 Additional terms for the Apple App Store
Where you obtain the App from the Apple App Store, the following applies:
This agreement is between you and us only, and not with Apple Inc. or its subsidiaries (“Apple”). We, not Apple, are solely responsible for the App and its content.

The licence granted in this section is limited to a non-transferable licence to use the App on any Apple-branded product that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules set out in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions, except that the App may be accessed by other accounts associated with you through Family Sharing or volume purchasing.

Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support services in respect of the App. Support requests should be directed to support@news-agency.org.

In the event of any failure of the App to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price of the App to you, if any. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation in respect of the App. Any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs or expenses attributable to a failure to conform to a warranty are our responsibility.

We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claims by you or any third party relating to the App or your possession or use of it, including product liability claims, claims that the App fails to conform to a legal or regulatory requirement, and claims arising under consumer protection, privacy or similar legislation.

We, not Apple, are solely responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement and discharge of any third-party claim that the App or your possession and use of it infringes that third party’s intellectual property rights.

You represent and warrant that you are not located in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated by the US Government as a “terrorist supporting” country, and that you are not listed on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.

Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of this section 5, and on your acceptance of these terms Apple will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce this section against you as a third-party beneficiary.

5.2 Google Play
Where you obtain the App from Google Play, your use of the App is also subject to the Google Play Terms of Service.

6. Subscriptions, free trial and billing
Paid subscriptions are sold as in-app purchases through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Apple or Google is the seller and merchant of record for your purchase, and your payment is made to them under their terms, not ours.

Price. The subscription costs £2.99 per month. Prices displayed in the App Store or Google Play include any applicable VAT or other sales taxes. Prices in other currencies are set by the relevant store.

Free trial. New subscribers receive a free trial of one month. Unless you cancel before the end of the trial, the subscription converts automatically to a paid monthly subscription at the price then displayed, and you will be charged at that point. One free trial per person.

Renewal. The subscription renews automatically each month until cancelled. Your store account is charged at the start of each billing period.

Managing your subscription. You can cancel, or turn off automatic renewal, in the subscription settings of your Apple or Google account. We cannot cancel a store subscription on your behalf. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep full access until then.

Price changes. We may change the subscription price. We will give you at least one month’s notice before a change takes effect, and you may cancel before then if you do not wish to continue. Where Apple or Google requires your explicit consent to a price increase, the subscription will not renew at the new price without it.

7. Cancellation and refunds
If you are a consumer, you normally have a statutory right to cancel a contract for digital content or services within 14 days of entering into it.

By starting a free trial or a subscription, you ask us to begin supplying the Service immediately and you acknowledge that you will lose your right to cancel within the 14-day period once supply has begun. Your right to cancel the subscription at any time under section 6 is not affected.

Refunds for in-app purchases are handled by Apple or Google under their own policies, not by us. Requests should be made through the relevant store. We apply the statutory minimum and do not otherwise offer refunds for partial billing periods.

This section does not affect your legal rights in respect of a Service that is faulty, not as described, or not supplied with reasonable care and skill.

8. Changes to the Service and to these terms
The Service is under continuous development. We may change the format, structure, frequency, editorial approach and content of the briefings, and the features available at each access level, and we may add, alter or withdraw features.

We may change these terms. If a change materially affects you, we will give you reasonable notice, normally at least one month, through the App or by email. Continuing to use the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the revised terms. If you do not accept them, you may cancel your subscription.

We may discontinue the Service. If we do so while you hold a paid subscription, we will give you reasonable notice and, where you have paid for a period that will not be supplied, a proportionate refund through the relevant store.

9. AI-generated content
Briefings published through the Service are generated using artificial intelligence under human editorial oversight. Automated systems produce the text of the briefings, and we apply editorial review before publication.

Automated systems can produce content that is inaccurate, incomplete, out of date or misleading, and editorial review does not eliminate this. You should not rely on the Service as your only source of information on any matter, and you should consult the original sources we link to where accuracy matters to you.

We do not warrant that the Service is accurate, complete or free from error.

If you believe a briefing contains an error, please tell us at support@news-agency.org.

10. Third-party content, outlet names and links
The Service describes, in our own words, how identified media outlets are reporting and framing an event. We do not reproduce those outlets’ articles. We use outlet names to identify the source of reporting, and we link to the original articles.

Outlet names, mastheads and trade marks belong to their respective owners. Their use in the Service is for identification and comparison only and does not imply any affiliation with, endorsement by, or authorisation from those outlets.

We do not control third-party websites and are not responsible for their content, availability, terms or privacy practices. Following an external link is at your own risk, and that site’s own terms will apply.

Quotes published as the quote of the day are drawn from public domain sources.

If you own rights in material you believe has been used improperly in the Service, contact us at support@news-agency.org and we will review it.

11. Editorial analysis and framing indicators

The comparative framing summaries, emotiveness indicators and related editorial signals in the Service are expressions of our editorial opinion and comparative analysis. They are not statements of fact about any outlet, journalist or publication, and they are not measurements of accuracy, truthfulness, bias in any legal sense, or journalistic quality.

They are produced by applying a consistent editorial method to published material. Reasonable people may reach different conclusions from the same material.

12. No advice

The Service provides general news and editorial content. It does not constitute financial, investment, legal, tax, medical or other professional advice, and must not be relied on as such. Nothing in the Service is an offer, solicitation or recommendation to buy or sell any security or other financial instrument. Take independent professional advice before acting on anything you read.

13. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the Service for any unlawful purpose, or in breach of these terms;

  • copy, scrape, harvest, extract, reproduce, republish or redistribute any part of the Service, in whole or in part, including by automated means, except as expressly permitted by these terms or by law;

  • use the Service, or any content from it, to train, fine-tune or evaluate any machine learning or artificial intelligence system;

  • resell, syndicate or otherwise make the Service available to third parties;

  • circumvent, disable or interfere with any access restriction, security feature or usage limit, including the limits that apply to free access;

  • interfere with the operation of the Service, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to it or to any related system or network;

  • misrepresent your identity or affiliation, or impersonate any person.

Sharing an individual story or headline with another person in the ordinary course, using any sharing features we provide, is permitted.

14. Saved items

The App allows you to save items to your device. Saved items are stored locally on that device. They are not backed up by us, are not synchronised between devices, and may be lost if you delete the App, reset the device, or lose access to it. We are not responsible for the loss of locally saved items.

We may in future offer saving to your account. If we do, we will tell you how that works before it applies to you.

15. User content

The Service does not currently allow you to submit content for publication. We may introduce features that do, for example publishing selected correspondence from readers.

If we introduce such a feature, we will publish additional terms covering it before you can use it. Those terms will set out what rights you grant us in anything you submit and what we may publish. We will not publish material you send to our support address as reader content without asking you first.

16. Intellectual property

We and our licensors own all intellectual property rights in the Service, including the App, the website, the briefings, the editorial method, and the News Agency name and branding. Nothing in these terms transfers any of those rights to you.

The licence in section 5 is the only right you have to use them.

17. Availability and support

We aim to publish a briefing each day and to keep the Service available, but we do not guarantee that a briefing will be published on any particular day, or that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may suspend the Service for maintenance, for security reasons, or to make changes.

Support is available at support@news-agency.org. We aim to respond within a reasonable time. We do not offer guaranteed response times.

18. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. You can delete your account at https://app.news-agency.org/delete-account or by contacting support@news-agency.org. Cancelling a paid subscription is separate and is done through your Apple or Google account, as described in section 6.

Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription, and you may continue to be charged if you do not cancel it as well.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service, on notice where practicable, if you materially breach these terms, if we reasonably suspect fraudulent or unlawful use, or if we are required to do so by law. Where we terminate a paid subscription for a reason that is not your fault, we will arrange a proportionate refund for any period paid for and not supplied.

On termination, your licence to use the App ends and you must stop using it. Sections 9 to 12, 16, 19 and 21 to 23 survive termination.

19. Our liability

If we fail to comply with these terms, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of that failure. We are not responsible for loss or damage that is not foreseeable.

You have legal rights as a consumer that these terms do not affect. Advice about those rights is available from Citizens Advice.

We supply the Service for domestic and private use. If you use it for any commercial or business purpose, we have no liability to you for loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption, or loss of business opportunity.

We are not liable for any decision you take, or do not take, in reliance on content in the Service, or for the content, accuracy or availability of third-party material linked from it.

Except for the liabilities described in the paragraph below, our total liability to you arising out of or in connection with the Service in any 12-month period is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us, or paid through the App Store or Google Play for the Service, in that period, and £50.

Some liabilities cannot be limited or excluded by law, and we do not attempt to limit or exclude them. These include liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, and liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

20. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it and what rights you have. It is available on our website and forms part of your agreement with us.

21. Complaints

If you are unhappy with the Service, contact us at support@news-agency.org and we will try to resolve the matter. If you bought your subscription through the Apple App Store or Google Play, billing complaints should be raised with them.

22. General

We may transfer our rights and obligations under these terms to another organisation, and will tell you if we do. Your rights under these terms will not be affected. You may not transfer your rights or obligations to anyone else without our written consent.

These terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between us in relation to the Service.

If any provision of these terms is found to be unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in force.

If we delay in enforcing any right under these terms, that does not prevent us from enforcing it later.

Except as set out in section 5.1 in respect of Apple, no one other than you and us has any right to enforce these terms.

23. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You and we agree that the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except that if you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the United Kingdom you may also bring proceedings in the courts of the part of the United Kingdom where you live, and nothing in this section removes the protection of mandatory consumer laws of your country of residence.
